In San Francisco, where no car parked on the street is free from glass-breaking thieves, some have posted signs on the windows of cars announcing that there are no valuables inside.
The hope, of course, is that a thief reads the notice and decides, “Wow. There’s no valuables in there. I guess I’ll just get in another car.”
On Tuesday, a Reddit user posted a photo of one such sign and asked, “Do you think it works?” To the Reddit community. A lively debate ensued.

“Source: Between 2011 and 2013, my BMW was broken into 6-8 times where I parked it overnight in my neighborhood, and zero times since 2013 when I started putting a sign in my window.”
