I don’t necessarily like it, but the point is, it’s nice. Maybe that’s what you expected, but at a certain point, what you want is the story. It’s like reading a fluid story that ends the way you want, waiting for what happens next. And the bonus part is my favorite thing about the author, the conversation between Horace and Halt (makes me laugh like old times). In life we will face certain challenges, some will be difficult and some will be rough. But it’s okay to do what’s expected because I don’t necessarily like that, but the point is that it’s enjoyable. Maybe that’s what you expected, but at a certain point, what you want is the story. I’m excited about this series! I’m always excited for a new John Flanagan book because I know it’s a great read. The characters in this series are like old friends to me, having spent years of my life reading about THEIR lives. I love seeing what they are up to and I can’t get enough of their fun pranks and antics! This book is part 2 of 4 books in this series. This seems to be Flanagan’s new take on the Royal Ranger series… the first book got me obsessed with the series! I’m always excited for a new John Flanagan book because I know it’s a great read. The characters in this series are like old friends to me, having spent years of my life reading about THEIR lives. I love seeing what they are up to and I can’t get enough of their fun pranks and antics! This book is part 2 of 4 books in this series. This seems to be Flanagan’s new take on the Royal Ranger series… the first book was standalone, but the 2nd and 3rd are one story, and the 4th and 5th are two stories. It’s so annoying how books fall apart like that. When I started this book, I had almost forgotten what happened in the last book. This left me with a complete lack of understanding of the story and forced me to Google the story more than once. That’s why I’m only giving this book 4 stars instead of 5… if John Flanagan stopped sharing the stories, every one of his books would be 5 stars out of 5!
