It feels like there’s a beautiful setting in the lobby and rooms of Pullman Hyde Park Sydney, no matter which way you look at it. Located in the South East corner of Hyde Park, central district on one side and Bondi on the other. If you like a setting, then I doubt this is a hotel that will be on your radar.
Pullman Hyde Park has had many names over the years, building something that has become iconic to the locals. My wife was there on a hen night almost 20 years ago. But this last vacation is a more romantic occasion. only us 2; The kids… I don’t care where the kids are, they’re not near me!

The prices of Pullman Sydney Hyde Park are comparable or even slightly lower than the surrounding area. I didn’t notice any significant difference between the mid-week and weekend rates or when searching for school holidays. If you see prices fluctuating, I’d venture to say it’s because you booked in a wedding or a corporate office with increased demand.

A classic room costs around $260 to $280. This price increases to $20 when you move up to the Superior Room, Deluxe Room, and Executive Room. There are family suites, priced at around $420.
Looking at the hotel landscape, I’d say Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is reasonably priced compared to other options.
Pullman Sydney Hyde Park has an attractive location. It is not in the heart of the CBD, but it is in the heart of the Sydney metropolitan area. About a 20-minute drive west, you’ll find Darling Harbour. A 20-minute drive north is the Round Rock, close to the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. If you walk 20 minutes south, you will pass central station. A 10-minute walk east is the iconic King’s Cross.
No need to walk as public transport is nearby. You can easily catch a bus or train to any of the locations above. It is also close to the Bondi and Fox Studios bus lines. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs on Oxford Street.

Then, of course, there’s Hyde Park, a true wonder of Sydney. It is surrounded by beautiful old buildings, including a museum and an art gallery. It also connects to the Domaine, opening up to the Botanical Garden, a beautiful promenade that leads to the harbour.
As mentioned, its location – just way back from the CBD – gives you a stunning view of the city. You can’t see most of the main attractions, but it’s still beautiful. Visibility in most directions is more or less unobstructed.
Overall, I’d highly recommend this location, as long as you understand it’s not in the heart of Circular Quay or Darling Harbour. If getting to any of these places is your dream, that distance is probably too far for your needs.
Not much happens in the lobby of Pullman Sydney Hyde Park. It’s not a big space, but it’s nice enough. There is a mini bar, cafe/restaurant and reception. Don’t expect a lot of open space and luxury, but it’s annoying. There are some nice large chandeliers and the stairs have an old school model.

The first two floors above are dedicated to working space and an auditorium. On weekdays, the hotel is clearly for business, but this is not out of the question, and you probably won’t even know something is going on unless you run into people. attend.
In general, the hotel has deeper, richer, bold and attractive colors. It’s not an ultra-modern approach, a smart move since it’s an older building after all. However, there is one room that is a bit special. It was put together by interior design experts Coco Republic. It looks modern and elegant and is the room I lived in.
If you look closely in your room, you can see the age of the building, known. Peeling paint, marks on the floor, and similar curious little stains can’t completely cover new furniture and clothing. It doesn’t bother me, but it’s noticeable.
As it’s only a short walk from the city centre, Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is easy to reach. Although the road is still busy, it is still wide and not as crowded as the streets of the central area. There is a spacious walkway that allows you to pull over to the curb to unpack/pack your belongings. There is a parking lot below which I used. Even when driving a larger SUV, I found entry and exit points relatively easy. Note that, starting at the top, seats in the city are always packed.

A short walk from the front door to the living room. The staff that greeted us were very pleasant and prompt in their work. We went up to the room and the key card worked for the first question. Registration is also quick and painless; It was indeed a light breeze.
I will preface this part of the review by saying that I stayed at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park during COVID and a few days before Christmas. As a result, my experience did not help fully staffed Sydney businesses at the time. Some great features — like the ability to choose a pillow type and a fully stocked kitchen — have been put on hold.
The 4 things that matter to me are a quiet room, consistent air conditioning, a breathtaking view, and a comfortable bed. The room ticks all four boxes with objections. While not all rooms have the same stunning city views as Coco Republic’s Park Suites, many will enjoy and truly enjoy sitting there with a peaceful setting.
I invite you to watch the video above to see the room, but you’ll notice, as I did, it’s very spacious, has a large bathroom with a great bathtub, and is well-equipped without being too cramped.

I have 2 complaints that the Wi-Fi is not free in the rooms. These days, in my opinion, that’s really unacceptable. However, you can make up for it with 4G these days. For some reason, when I got to my room, the set-top box was also missing. This plus the fact that the TV is old and I can’t get the streaming app or play it on the TV even if I pay online.
While this is my experience, I don’t think this will be a consistent complaint among guests. The manager came and talked to me in a lovely way and I was also surprised that the set-top box was missing. The aforementioned COVID-related staff shortage means that IT staff are often not available to fix it. He also notes that modern TV models are in the process of updating native apps, which could be a big fix in all of this.
Pullman Sydney Hyde Park doesn’t have a loud, loud restaurant experience. There is a beautiful space overlooking the park with buffet breakfast. It’s called Windows on the Park and it’s not open the rest of the day. The break was nice but focused on the basics. No chef omelettes, Asian dishes, fancy yogurt or the like, just the nuts and bolts of the buffet.
Drinks and lunch are also available at the small but comfortable Thirty6 bar in the main lobby. as well as dinner from 4:30 to 9pm.

You always have a dining room. We ordered quite a bit of food while in our room and it was excellent. Portions are not large but the quality of the food is impressive. Perfectly cooked and very tasty.
Maybe just because we stayed at the Park Suite in Coco Republic, but when we arrived there was a small fruit platter in our room which was also delicious.
