Pink Gold Samsung S7
After about six years of using an iPhone, I switched to a Samsung with a rose gold Galaxy S7 edge. The swap was done for a number of reasons, but mainly so I could finally use my rose gold Gear S2 Classic. Of course, the larger screen and the pink color of the S7 edge are also nice additions. So I said goodbye to my iPhone 6 and hello to my new best friend.

The biggest issue I have with the rose gold Galaxy S7 edge is that it doesn’t match the color of my Gear S2. However, I like the design of the S7 edge – the edges give it a smooth look and the phone sits well in the hand and is quite compact for its size. The back of the phone has an expensive all-glass look, and I can almost forgive the shiny glass that shows a lot of fingerprints.
I’m pretty clumsy and have dropped my phone a few times. So the first thing I did when I got my S7 was buy a case. This was not an official Samsung cover because the pink cover was not available from the company and still not available in the Netherlands. Not good – While the third-party cover works well, it doesn’t match the design of the phone. It would be great to have an official bag in a matching color.
Now coming to the cameras, I have to say that the Galaxy S7 edge’s camera quality shocked me. I was more used to the iPhone camera and it’s almost a shame how much better the S7 edge camera is. Of course, I take into account the fact that the iPhone 6 is almost 18 months older than my S7 edge, but I also found that the Galaxy S6 has a significantly better camera.
The selfie camera is better as it takes photos with more light and overall I’m very happy with the cameras on my S7 edge. I also like the fact that I can launch the camera by double pressing the home button. Goodbye dark and blurry photos, hello bright, fast and shiny selfies!

Another big plus compared to the iPhone is the screen quality. Reading my iPhone screen while walking in the sun used to be really difficult, but with my S7 edge I can lay in the sun and still check my Facebook without straining to see what’s on the screen. A friend tells me it’s because of the Super AMOLED display, a technology that Samsung has been using for several years. I don’t usually care about specs like this, but I don’t mind mentioning it in this review because it offers such an advantage.
I’ve been using iOS for years, so it took me a week or two to get used to Android. Before switching I thought it would be difficult but now I use my S7 edge like any other phone. I still have trouble finding items in the settings menu, but the search option usually takes care of that. Otherwise, I can always ask my geek friend. Where would women be without our men? Or without our beautiful phones?
Overall, I am very happy with my Galaxy S7 edge. The camera, screen and design make me not regret leaving the iPhone at home. However, it would be great if the S7 edge was real rose gold instead of rose gold, something Samsung really needs to look at in the future. This would make the S7 edge more perfect for me.

A day after Apple launched a rose gold version of its MacBook, Samsung has announced that its flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will soon be available in rose gold.
You read that right: the color is not rose gold, but rose gold, although Samsung has used the rose gold moniker before, for example for its classic Gear S2 smartwatch. You can see what the new color looks like in the pictures above and below.
We’d say variations of the pink/pink/gold theme are trending right now, but Samsung has some choice words to explain this particular color scheme. It provides a “sense of comfort,” the company said in a blog post, and is said to “soothe and incorporate a touch of softness, shine and sophistication.” Now you know.
The rose gold S7 and S7 Edge will be available in South Korea on April 20, and will arrive in select markets “soon.”
