Padi Scuba Diver

Although most diving lessons are held in Makati, diving lessons can also be done at any dive shop in Metro Manila, Philippines. Diving centers are located in San Juan, Paranaque, Taguig, Quezon City, Ortigas. We can discuss location options based on availability and other logistical issues.

Actual class schedule may vary slightly depending on facility, pace of instruction, class size, weather, and other logistical issues. Depending on the student’s performance, more training days may be added.

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course):

After registration and publication of the manual (Day 0) prepare the payment of Php 16,000. The rest of the price of the course and the Anilao diving package will be paid during the pool session (Day 1). diving lessons, experience a unique adventure and see the world under the waves, that’s where it starts.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases. The first is knowledge development, which covers everything you need to know about basic diving techniques, terminology and safety procedures. Others are indoor diving, which is training in a pool or in water in pool-like conditions. They give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the equipment you will be using and to practice basic diving skills and techniques to keep you safe. Third is your open water diving. That’s the whole point – you’ll be diving into the ocean for the first time! During four dives, you will demonstrate a variety of skills underwater and on the surface to be a safe and competent diver. The training section usually only covers the first part of the dive, so you will spend most of your time diving with your instructor and exploring the underwater world. As soon as your instructor approves your open water training, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver! This means you will be allowed to rent scuba gear and dive up to 18 meters anywhere in the world for life!

The fun part of this course… almost all because learning to dive is amazing. Breathe underwater for the first time (something you’ll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you will complete at least five dives in the pool and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your PADI instructor.

On the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic diving equipment, including a BCD. regulators, tank and standard accessories. The equipment you will wear will be selected by a SCUBA WEST representative to ensure your comfort throughout the course.

PADI offers a variety of home study materials for the Open Water Diver course, including books and videos, a tablet app or eLearning. Recently, PADI has developed this program by presenting learning material in an e-learning environment over the Internet.

PADI’s Open Water Diver materials cover what you need to know about basic diving skills, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept you will read an explanation and watch a video demonstration. You’ll then jump into the pool (or pool-like environment) to hone these skills with your instructor.

Our weekend schedule consists of two consecutive Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Don’t worry if you need to book those weekends, let us know and they will show you options for your schedule.

Your tuition includes your PADI Offshore CrewPak, which includes your handbook, logbook and dive planner. Let us know if you want to complete your online learning. You will also need to watch the Open Water diver DVD before the lesson.

Scuba West, complete your training at our two and a half acre complex. When you pull into our parking lot, you are just steps away from our classroom, pool, and outdoor scuba diving site, the Hudson Grotto.

Part of your time in the classroom will be spent learning all the great equipment, so don’t worry, we’ll provide most of it for your training. But there are a few things you will need. All you need to get started is a good mask, flippers with boots and a snorkel. Scuba West offers discounted rates and packages for all our students. What Is A Padi Drift Diver Course?

On the first weekend, your time will be split between lectures and our heated pool. The second weekend will be spent at our dive site, Hudson Grotto, where you will do four dives under the guidance of your instructor.
