New York Flights From Brisbane – Qantas has several flights to Los Angeles with services from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Most of you may know that Sydney and Melbourne have two services a day, the first with an A380 and the second with a 747. Brisbane also only has 1 service a day with a 747.
You may also know that Qantas currently does not operate direct flights to New York from Australia, but does operate connecting flights from Los Angeles to New York on a 747. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase this as a single flight, but what if there was a way to make this flight later on arriving in Los Angeles and planning to connect to NY? Well, you can do just that (if you booked flights on the Alaska Airlines frequent flyer program)
New York Flights From Brisbane
This can be a little confusing, but once I explain it, it will be much easier to understand. The only way to fly QF11 service from Los Angeles to New York is to max out your Alaska mileage plan stopover policy.
Direct (non Stop) Flights From Brisbane To Tokyo
And the coolest part about the Qantas layover? according to Alaska there is no layover length limit when flying Qantas Metal!
Something important to remember – Qantas does not have first class on the 747s used on US routes. So if you use 70,000 for First, you’ll get First from Sydney or Melbourne to Los Angeles and Business to New York. If you book Business for 50,000, you will get Business all the way to Los New York.
Obviously this won’t work for everyone, as not everyone uses Alaska points to book their Qantas awards. But those who take advantage of it. This is fantastic if you are planning a trip to New York at a later date.
This could also work if you want to do the same on your way home and want to stop in Los Angeles.
