Mapleton Falls is located in Mapleton National Park on the Sunshine Coast about 40 minutes drive inland from Mooloolaba.
There is no public transportation available to get to Mapleton National Park so you must have your own vehicle for the tour.
The best time to visit Mapleton Falls National Park is from 8 am to 12 pm for the best light from the sun.
If you are not a morning person, you can visit this waterfall at any time of the day.
The Great Outdoors
Keep in mind that this waterfall is popular with tourists and can get busy on weekends. If you manage to time your visit on a weekday, you will enjoy it with fewer people.
When you arrive at Mapleton National Park, you’ll find a large parking lot with plenty of free parking conveniently located at the entrance to the falls and the Mapleton Falls Lookout.
There are restrooms and picnic areas near the parking lot that you can use before and after your tour.
From the parking area, a stone’s throw to the lookout where you can see a beautiful view of the waterfall and the Obi Obi Valley.

This 120-meter-high waterfall features water from Pencil Creek that cascades down the cliff face and into the basin below.
The base of Mapleton Waterfall is impossible to find, so make sure to take some photos at the lookout before continuing on the Wompoo Circuit.
