Danny (Noah Taylor) lives in share house 47 in his twenties. Obsessed with all the classic male issues that exist and the characters they embody, Danny tries to understand the strange and unexpected quirks that can only come from living among a random set of complete strangers.
Starting in Brisbane, a tropical, testosterone-filled environment with too many men and a womanizer named Sam (Emily Hamilton), Danny decides to save himself by writing the ultimate existentialist novel. Anja’s (Romane Boringer) arrival and Miami Vice-style rental dilemma throws her life, and ultimately the house she lives in, completely off course.

For once, the movie wiki has a very detailed plot summary with cast details (and spoilers) here. It’s very long and detailed, and very useful for anyone wanting to know about the film, it does away with the Wiki-style “thought police” that the site is sometimes unfortunately famous for.
Along with the “broom” image came this familiar warning: “The plot summary in this section may be too long or too detailed. Please help improve it by removing unnecessary details and making it more concise. (March 2013)”
Inevitably, while still long, one has to assume that the police have done some finishing touches, even if the long synopsis doesn’t balance the rest of the wiki with brief information about the film.
However, the long version gives a much better flavor of the film, its characters, style and theme, so this site has captured most of it (deleting some details about things like cane toads and Queensland houses) and posted it in the ” about the film section of this site , changing some details and adding more to make it longer – no doubt annoying wikis think the police in the process.(Thanks to the original writer of the long wiki version of the synopsis, who is clearly a fan of the film).
