I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley in Lovedale for 2 nights and 2 days; which was an absolute hit of serendipity as all destinations and activities on our itinerary were no more than a 12 minute drive. There was a fantastic restaurant downstairs called Redsalt which I took advantage of as soon as I parked and was there every morning to enjoy the breakfast buffet.

Juice stations, breakfast cereals, fruit, a full service cafe and your choice of poolside crispy or bacon or people watching bacon. What a time to live!

You just can’t go wrong with the breakfast buffet, which has an egg station with made-to-order eggs benedict and omelets. You just can’t.

After adding 7 pounds of bacon and mushrooms to my body, we headed to the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens. Home to 9 beautiful and unique gardens straight out of India, China and even fairy tales.
