The spec actually only needs to sit on the surface for about 5 to 15 minutes. At the same time you can use a pressure washer to clean the drain.

When sealing exposed aggregate, two types of concrete sealers are commonly used: penetrating and topical.
Penetrating sealers protect concrete from discoloration, allowing exposed aggregate to retain its natural appearance and color. They seal the aggregate without leaving a visible surface film. On average they last seven to 10 years and require no maintenance. Penetrating sealers do not protect loose stones or prevent stones from becoming loose. If you need to protect loose stones, acrylic sealer is the best choice.
The second and more common choice is a topical acrylic concrete sealer, which protects and enhances concrete with a glossy finish often referred to as the “wet look.” Eight out of 10 of our customers choose Honey Brown Gloss Sealer for their exposed aggregate surfaces. It provides a semi-transparent brown color that helps reveal the natural properties of the aggregate underneath.

Another advantage of using an acrylic sealer is that it is topical. Instead of penetrating 1/2 inch into the concrete, the sealer sits on top of the surface. Before applying a penetrating or topical sealer, you must clean the exposed concrete aggregate. Pressure wash dirt and grime from the surface, use a rust remover to remove rust and a cleaner/degreaser to deal with tough oil spills. After cleaning the concrete, let it dry for a day.
After the concrete dries, the sealing process begins. Using a ½ inch roller and a pump sprayer, begin applying the sealer. If the project is a driveway, start by entering the garage door that runs toward the road and be careful not to enter the sealer.

If the previous sealer was acrylic, use a stripper to remove old sealer, mildew and dirt.
We offer a product through Store.com called Deco-Peel. It is very easy to work and control. Cut the squares of the fabric you provided, place them on each concrete pad, and apply the striper with a roller.
Wait 15 to 20 minutes and pull a cloth that has absorbed each sealer from the concrete surface. Then lightly press the concrete across your patio and apply a fresh coat of sealer. (Allow the concrete to dry sufficiently before applying a new sealer.) Also, remember that several thin coats of sealer are better than one heavy coat.
