For over 110 years, the McEwen Funeral Service family has been serving the Charlotte area. Our trip started around 1908. To help those who lost loved ones to the flu epidemic, McEwen began making coffins in Mint Hill, North Carolina. In 1915, Carl J., son of R.J. In 1921 they added additional services and purchased a furnace for funeral services. As his business grew, R. and Carl opened the McEwen Funeral Home of Mint Hill in 1926.
