The Holden Commodore ute didn’t officially make its way to the US in 2008 and 2009 after plans to export it there fell through after the Pontiac brand strengthened after the global financial crisis.
However, North America was not impressed by cars such as the V8-powered Holden Commodore.
General Motors and Holden were so close to exporting the Commodore ute to the US as Pontiac that rapper 50 Cent unveiled the vehicle at the 2008 New York Auto Show.
The car was supposed to hit US showrooms in late 2009, but General Motors went bankrupt and the Pontiac brand was scrapped.

According to enthusiast website Carscoops, which spotted the listing and was the first outlet to report the mystery surrounding the vehicle: “In other words, the vehicle you’re looking at isn’t technically a Caprice or Chevy SS, but a Holden ute. . Caprice parts and The SS was attached to it just to keep it running and normal. Also, the VIN matches the Chevy Caprice PPV.”
